Join the Fable beta

Fable is an AI document editor: say what should change, by typing or speaking; it makes that edit, shows exactly what changed, and you can undo it. The beta is open to anyone who revises long documents, alone or with a small team, on macOS or Windows.

Beta testers get the full app: AI edits you can review and undo, version history with author attribution, real-time collaboration with owner, editor and viewer roles, and an assistant that answers questions across your project. You can also import Word, PDF and Markdown files and export to Word, PDF, Markdown, HTML or plain text.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the Fable beta?
Sign in with Google on this page and answer four short questions: your operating system, your team size, what you write and how you work today. We review every application personally and email you a download link once you are approved.
How long does approval take?
Most applications are approved within a day. The approval email links to the download page for your platform; sign in there with the same Google account you applied with.
Does the beta cost anything?
No credit card is needed to apply. Approved testers start on the free Starter plan, which includes $5 in editing credits, one project and full version history. The Pro plan is $20 per month if you need more.
Which platforms does the beta support?
Fable is a native desktop app for macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel, and Windows 10 or later (x64).
Can I invite people to work with me?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Owners invite collaborators by email as editors or viewers, everyone sees changes as they happen, and the owner pays for the AI usage. After you apply you also get a referral link to share.
