Introduction

At Fable, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our collaborative writing application ("Fable").

Voice Processing

When you give a voice instruction, the transcribed text of your instruction and your document content are sent to our servers, which forward them to the AI for editing. Your content is not stored after the edit is complete.

Document Data

Your documents are synced in real-time for collaboration purposes:

Document content is stored securely to enable real-time collaboration
Edit history is preserved for version control and attribution
Collaborators see only the resulting edits — not the text of your voice instructions

In-App Feedback

Fable includes a built-in feedback chat where you can report bugs, request features, or ask questions using voice recordings or text:

Voice feedback is transcribed locally on your device. The transcribed text is sent to our servers for light copy-editing (grammar cleanup) using an AI model, then stored in your feedback thread.
You may attach screenshots to feedback messages. These images are stored securely in our cloud storage and are accessible only through our server.
All feedback message content is encrypted at rest. The Fable team can view your feedback messages and screenshots in order to respond to your requests.
Feedback threads are retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your feedback history by contacting us.

Information We May Collect

The following information may be collected:

Account Information: Email address and profile details for collaboration features
Usage Statistics: Anonymous application events to improve stability (can be disabled in Settings)
AI Usage: Processing usage for billing purposes

Third-Party Services

Fable connects to AI services for voice editing functionality. Only the current document content and your transcribed instruction are shared with the AI service when you explicitly give a voice command.

Data Retention

Document data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual documents or your entire account at any time. Anonymous usage statistics are retained for a maximum of 12 months.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
