The Timeline
The right sidebar shows the complete history of every change made to your document — forever. This is your undo system. There's no separate undo button — the history is the undo.
Every voice edit, every collaboration, every change is recorded with full context. You can scroll through the entire creative journey of your document from the very first word.
What Each Entry Shows
Each history entry includes:
- A short summary of what changed
- The AI's explanation of why it made those changes
- A timestamp
- Who made the edit (with their color-coded avatar)
- A detailed diff showing exactly which paragraphs were added, changed, or removed
Diff Visualization
When viewing an edit in the timeline, Fable highlights what changed at the paragraph level:
- Green — paragraphs that were added
- Amber — paragraphs that were modified
- Red — paragraphs that were removed
This makes it easy to see exactly what the AI changed before deciding whether to keep it or revert.
Reverting Changes
Click any point in the timeline to revert your document to that version. Nothing is ever lost — even after reverting, the full history remains intact. You can always go back to any version, at any time.
This makes it safe to experiment. Try something bold, and if it doesn't work out, just step back in the timeline. That's how great stories get made — through fearless iteration.
